Inauguration of the Carbonaxion biomass heating system serving the Nordique spa Stoneham
August 23, 2019
The Legault Government has announced financial assistance for Carbonaxion in the amount of $161,503. This contribution has helped support the company so that it can offer a "green" heat service, using residual forest biomass, to replace the propane heating system at Nordique spa Stoneham.
The thermal energy generated will be used to heat the chalet, water, pools, spas and heated walkways, and will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 129 tonnes per year. Carbonaxion designed, built and financed this heat production and distribution system and will also see to its operation.
Jonatan Julien, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Minister responsible for the Côte-Nord region, was present at the inauguration of these new facilities, which gave rise to this Radio-Canada report.
